Fr. Mathew Kavipurayidam, T.O.R. 
Fr. Mathew Kavipurayidam is a TOR Franciscan Friar from the Province of St. Thomas in India. He was born on July 6,1949, at Ponkunnam in the state of Kerala in South India. After having completed his High School studies at the State High School in his home town, he joined the TOR Franciscan Friaternity in 1965 and learned to be a Missionary in North India. He studied philosophy at St.Albert's College, Ranchi and Theology at Papal Athaneum in Pune and was ordained a priest on October 18,1975. He holds a Master's degree in theology.
After his Ordination Fr.Mathew served in various capacities such as Vocation Promotor, Director of Seminarians, Principal of School , Associate Pastor and Vicar Provincial.
He hails from a family of 5 boys and 5 girls. Both his parents as well as a sister and a brother have gone to their eternal reward. Among the remaining 7 siblings one of his sisters is a nun and the other three sisters and three brothers are happily married and are blessed with children.
Fr.Mathew came to the United States in May 2004 and was installed as Pastor of St.Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Carrollton on August 4, 2004.
