First Reconciliation and First Eucharist

First Reconciliation & First Eucharist Preparation

Our preparation process is driven by a child's readiness and includes all elementary-aged children, 2nd grade and up, who have completed one full year of RE classes and whose parents think they may be ready this year. There is no extra fee, so parents who find that their child is not yet ready can wait another year while the child grows in their ability to understand the sacraments.

First Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation is home-centered, which means that parents work with their child at home as well as attend the preparation classes here at the church with the child. There are 4 classes for First Reconciliation and 6 plus a workshop for First Eucharist, offered at 3 different times during the week, to make the classes accessible to many family situations.

The celebration of First Reconciliation normally takes place in November, before Thanksgiving. First Eucharist is normally celebrated the first weekend of May at all Masses. Mass times are assigned based on class time.

~ Appropriate grade level classes are required during the preparation process.

~ The director will verify attendance of all children in a previous year of instruction. If you have moved to our parish recently, welcome! Please provide a brief letter or email from the previous parish noting your child's attendance in an appropriate religious formation program as soon as possible.

Please download the registration form below to see dates for the upcoming preparation classes. Bottom portion must be returned to office as registration, along with the grade level RE registration form, found on the Children's Formation page.
